MAP'D Designs was founded by Fashion Designer Michaelle Faison in 2016. After not being selected as a contestant on Project Runway she decided to make her own way into the fashion industry.
Michaelle fell in love with fashion at the age of 11. When graduating high school she knew that is exactly what she wanted to study in college years. At 18, when she became a young mother, she started school with a 6 week old determined to learn all there is to know about making her own clothes and the fundamentals of the fashion industry. By 2013 at 22 she became a mother of two, but being the determined individual she was, even with all the odds stacked against her she was attending school until the unfortunate school closing. She still decided to find a way into the industry on her own.
2018 being married with 2 children she made the bold decision to move her family to Atlanta for better opportunity.
MAP'D stands for
M- Michaelle/Michael, who is herself and her mother and father.
A- Aubrie/Ava, her two youngest daughters
P- Paris, her oldest daughter
D- Darrius & Darrius Jr., her husband & Son
These people make up the MAP'D of her journey throughout life.
With her designs she hopes to inspire and uplift women & children through her designs. While using their own MAP'D, she hopes they will feel confident and fashionable while going through life's journey.
